I have 8 more packs of our old friend '88 Fleer on the way. Got these for $2.52 delivered on eBay, a real steal. I only need 41 more cards for the set so I'm hoping I can knock some of those out. I'm also still looking for the elusive Glavine rookie. I should have a vid of these packs by early next week.

Mail Day: 12/10/08

I received an awesome package today from Daniel in New York state. I got over 300(!) commons I needed for '88 and '92 Fleer. Without a doubt my favorite of the bunch is this card right here.

I had no idea this card existed. Fleer really jumped the gun on this one as Jeff King wouldn't have another card until 1990 as he didn't make his ML debut until 1989. Jeff King was a number one draft pick by the Pirates in 1986. They had selected Barry Bonds number one in 1985 so they had pretty high hopes for King as well. After several false starts he finally showed signs of becoming a run producer in 1993 and then after a few big years in Pittsburgh he was traded to the Royals where he had a few more big years before calling it quits for his real love, hunting and fishing. I can't get over how young Kinger looks on this '88 Fleer card as I always remember the full beard he had as a big leaguer.

1988 Donruss Baseball

I received a couple bonus blister packs of 1988 Donruss baseball from the guy who sent me the 88 Fleer wax box I got off eBay. Here's a video of the first pack. The video I made of the second one didn't record right. Oh well.

1988 Fleer Baseball

I just received my 1988 Fleer baseball wax box that I sent away for on eBay and have finished busting it. Unfortunately my computer crashed several times recording the 88 Fleer busting videos and several won't play or upload correctly so I missing some of the vids but I managed to salvage most of them including the better packs. Thanks for bearing with me. By the way, out of a wax box of 540 cards only 112 were duplicates so 79% of the cards were different. That's very good collation as compared to the 92 Fleer box I opened with a pathetic 61% different cards. But more on that later.
